タイトル+コンセプト

 

My title of works : MIDDLE WAY

Work Concept Description:

What is right, or what is wrong?  This is the question that we can not conclude forever, and perhaps human beings have been long seeking for its answer.

Maybe it is easier for us to define “righteous”or “justice” in TV drama, novel, or the philosophy of “bushido”; however, in the real world, there is no single answer of “justice”.

People would find their own “justice” in the middle of their “way” of lives with a lot of consideration, wandering , and suffering.

This is why I chose the “way” as my theme of this exhibition. And the "way" exists just like the symbol of Japan, Mt.Fuji.

In Buddhism, the idea of “middle way” means to select the best (or sometimes better) option at a time, but not to determine yes or no clearly. 

Of course, the median or mean is not always correct. We always have wide variety of options not to go far extreme.

 

和訳

何が正しくて何が間違っているのか。

これは永遠に結論の出ない問題であり、人類はその答えを求め続けてきたのかもしれません。

勧善懲悪、正義のヒーローなどテレビドラマや小説、あるいは“武士道”のような哲学の世界では「正義」を定義しやすいのかもしれませんが、

現実の世界では「正義」の思想は多様であり、ひとつの答えを導き出すことは難しいといえます。

人は、それぞれの生き方の中で、悩み、迷い、苦しみながら自分なりの正義を見つけていくのです。

それ故、私は”道”をテーマにしました。

その“道”は、日本の象徴である富士山のように存在しています。

仏教でいうところの「中道」とは、その時々に適した選択（最も良い、場合によってはより良い）をする事であり、イエスかノーかを明確に判断することではありません。

もちろん、中央値や平均値が常に正しいとは限りません。私たちは、極端にならないように、常に幅広い選択肢を持っています。
